Melissa's Biography

Melissa started working for Webnoxious over 10 years ago on ad hoc projects. In 2008 she began working full time for Webnoxious and in 2010 Melissa became Principal of Webnoxious. She is now enjoying the leadership role. Overseeing projects, being able to incorporate new online solutions for clients and seeing the clients' benefits, has been very rewarding for Melissa. She has truly found her passion. Before Melissa joined the Webnoxious team she was involved in the corporate world. She worked for Abbott Laboratories/Abbott Nutrition, Fedex Corporate Services and Google. She worked in the corporate environment for 17 years, giving Melissa a strong business background. She completed her graduate degree in 2000 and with her strong interest in technology, she received her Management of Information Systems (MIS) concentration. Melissa worked for Google evaluating sites for popularity and usability before coming on board with Webnoxious full time. Melissa has completed over 100 hours of training in the areas of CSS, web development and web design, over the years. Melissa wouldn't know what to do without her computer at an arm's length. Melissa has always had a strong interest in technology, and being a part of the Webnoxious team has allowed Melissa to really develop her IT skills and interest. Melissa resides in eastern Iowa and enjoys an active life with her 3 kids and husband.

Teresa's Biography

Teresa Pangan, PhD, RD, has been known as the “Dietitian Web Designer”. By combining her loves for technology and the field of nutrition, her niche was unique. Bitten by the technology bug in the early 90’s during her doctoral studies in nutrition, her passion became the Internet. Teresa’s dissertation work involved two internet studies on adult online learning effectiveness and profitability factors for sites that solidified her career focus and she began developing web sites for small business owners. Twelve years later, Teresa is the Founder of Webnoxious and now a consultant; a web development and strategy firm whose focus is delivering results focused web sites. Teresa’s skill and sharp eye have enabled her to create successful websites for clients whose interest is to merge offline business operations and strategic plans with their website for a synergistic result. Known for her ability to redesign and reorganize websites for optimal member and customer value, Teresa’s client list includes individual entrepreneurs, associations, retail and professional businesses and non-profit organizations. Her philosophy of “continuous client communication” is weaved throughout the entire design process; thereby ensuring a consistently high rate of satisfaction by her customers. Teresa has created a team of web specialists who join her in her zeal for 100% customer satisfaction for each and every client. As a web consultant to businesses and organizations, Teresa is known for her empathetic style. As an entrepreneur and businesses owner, she puts herself in the shoes of her customers and finds out what motivates their web site visitors and defines what is of value to them. Once identified, Teresa focuses on the strategic goals of the organization to create a custom solution-and always keeps the bottom line in mind. As one of the foremost authorities on web design for the nutrition and dietetics industry, Teresa often shares her knowledge of technology and empowers others through speaking engagements around the country. “Standards for Evaluating Web Site” and “Writing for a Web Audience” are popular presentation topics. In addition, she is a contributing author to The Entrepreneurial Nutritionist, 3rd and coming soon 4th Edition, by Kathy King, RD. Teresa is also an accomplished writer and has been published frequently in industry related publications. Teresa received her doctoral degree in nutrition with an emphasis in institutional management and a minor in business from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. She received two Bachelor of Science degrees in dietetics and consumer food science from Iowa State University and is a Registered Dietitian. She received the prestigious Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award from the Texas Dietetic Association in 1998. When she’s not on the computer, she can be found enjoying her family, friends and balance in life by way of a piece of chocolate, glass of wine, or watching CSI episodes.
